Although most activities have been around Qt 5. Qt 4.8 is still pretty much alive, Qt 4.8.3 has been released. Since the previous release of Qt there have been over 200 improvements and fixes within Qt 4.8.3 which makes it worth moving over for Qt 4.8 users.

Qt 4.8.3 gives a new Web-kit (2.3.3), better support for Mac OS X 10.8 and QNX and other improvements such as improvements to the Qt Core, Qt GUI and Qt Network modules. Qt 4.8.3 has over 200 improvements which are really worth talking about. A change log from Qt 4.8.2 to 4.8.3 can be found here.

Patches to Qt 4.8 will be provided as long as they are needed. Digia has packaged and tested Qt 4.8.3 and recommend Qt users to move their projects to Qt 5 after the final version is available as Qt 5 is highly compatible with Qt 4. The installer and source packages are available for download at  http://qt-project.org/downloads. There is also an online SDK update available. For more information, please go to qt.digia.com.
