[Video] Demo of Intel's Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager (HAXM)

Oct 31, 2013

At the HTML5Developer Conference (#HTML5DeVConf) we got to see a Demo of Intel's Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager (HAXM) by Intel's Daniel Holmlund. Basically it is a Driver that is available for the Intel Android and for the Tizen system images. It is a Hardware Acceleration Layer that allows the emulator to utilise Intel's Virtualisation Technologies, so in this case the Demo runs on the CPU opposed to in Software.

The Intel Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager (IntelĀ® HAXM) is a hardware-assisted virtualization engine (hypervisor) that uses Intel Virtualization Technology (IntelĀ® VT) to speed up Android app emulation on a host machine. In combination with Android x86 emulator images provided by Intel and the official Android SDK Manager, HAXM allows for faster Android emulation on Intel VT enabled systems.
The following platforms are supported by the Intel HAXM.
