Samsung's SDK 5.0 will let you control appliances from your Smart TV

Samsung Electronics have released the Smart TV Software Development Kit (SDK) 5.0 for application developers the required tools to build fantastic Apps for its Smart TV's. This particular SDK brings some extra exciting functionality with it, your able to control your home appliances (think fridge, washing machine, toaster?), lighting and other Smart Devices.

"With a membership and download the SDK continues to increase every year, the Samsung website Development Forum to be one of the biggest TV application developer community in the world," said Byun Young-ki, vice president of Software Research & Development Team at Samsung Electronics. "We plan to provide more diverse platforms and improve the development environment to expand the application ecosystem Smart TV."

It uses the latest HTML5 Web UI Framework for Samsung Smart TV Caph (beta Cassiopeia) and also Smart TV PNaCL technology, which enables developers to provide applications through various models of Smart TVs without having to worry about compatibility. The release date for the SDK is chalked as January the 6th 2014.
