All eyes have been looking towards the east for Samsung to launch the first Tizen based Smartphone, the Samsung Z1 (SM-Z130H), but the Smartphone failed to materialise. We are disappointed and saddened that their is an Information vacuum that will now be filled with speculation. Insiders close to the situation still feel there should be a release soon, but can not stipulate when that exactly could be.
Looking around we noticed something interesting. The fact that over the last 3 to 4 weeks 2.4 million individual pieces pertaining to the Samsung Z1 SM-Z130H assembly project have been imported into India, which have a value of over 106 million INR ($1.7 million USD). The total cost is likely to be far greater than this figure. This would suggest Samsung are still assembling the Tizen Smartphones.
Below are a listing of some of the parts imported during the last few days alone according to the latest Zauba shipping manifest.
We can see that there has been a huge continued investment by Samsung for the Samsung Z1 (SM-Z130H) in India and find it hard to believe that this Smartphone will not be released. There is also a India Portathon that ended yesterday, which hoped to attract Indian developers to port their Smartphone applications to Tizen.
We can only but wait for Someone (Samsung) to release the Smartphone, hoping it's sooner than later.
Below are the specifications that we can gather that the Tizen Samsung Z1 will be running:
Keep strong, we might be at the end of our wait. Samsung?
