The Tizen Store hasn’t got the best selection of messaging apps, kind of an understatement, but its great to see the Telegram secure messaging app making its way to Tizen platform and available for the Samsung Z3.
Telegram a said to be a new era of messaging that is available across multiple platforms such as Android, iOS, Windows Phone, a Web version, Desktop PC / Mac / Linux. One of the great features is that your chats are actually synchronised across all your devices that are connected to Telegram.
"Telegram is a messaging app with a focus on speed and security. It’s super-fast, simple, secure and free"
This is the world’s fastest messaging app that is free, secure and keeps your encrypted personal and business messages away from hackers, and you also have the ability to instantly delete them. The speed is achieved by being able to connect to a distributed infrastructure with data centers positioned around the globe to connect users to the closest possible server. Other big features are there are no media limits, but I haven't been able to test this on the Z3 yet. You are also able to create large group chats of up to 200 members.
At the moment the app will only allow people to log in from a limited list of countries: Argentina, Brazil, China, France, India, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, United States, and Vietnam. I hope the developer does expand keep expanding on this list.
This app has been ported to Tizen by Sandeep Kumar Polu and is not the official Telegram app. The app supports most basic features, with most advanced stuff still being under development. You can start new individual and group chats, invite friends, search, edit profile and background image.
You can find Telegram immediately available as a 4.48 MB download from the Tizen Store. The is currently no news on its availability for the Samsung Z1. We will keep you posted.
