Since the Samsung Z1 Beta software test program went live Z1 users in India have wanted to get the final Tizen 2.4 Operating System (OS) on their devices asap. Today, according to a facebook message posted by Jason Dongwon Kwak, Managing Director (Samsung R&D Institute India Bangalore), has said that the Tizen 2.4 Operating System for the Samsung Z1 will be released around 22 January 2016. He has also gone on to state that "it will support SHAREit , WhatsApp voice call and many other features".
The Z1 is currently available in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. It would be consistent with Samsung's OS development plans to initially make the Tizen 2.4 update available in India, as soon as next week, and then look at rolling out to other markets (no time scales are known at the moment).
Tizen 2.4 beta users have recently had a second update to the 2.4 OS and it has been well received and inidicates most beta bugs had been squahed, which was one of the main objectives of the beta program. It did look like version Z130HDDU0COL6 was going to be the final release but this was pulled before release.
