We have recently reported on the new features and also improvements to the overall user experience that the upcoming Gear S2 software update will provide. Today, Samsung have begun rolling this update out to end users. At the moment users in the Netherlands and Germany have reported receiving the update which is only 61.1MB. There is no sight of it in the UK at the moment, but I will keep checking 🙂

The firmware is R732XXU2DPFB for the Gear S2 classic and R730XXU2DPFB for the Gear S2 Sport. It brings My Photo watch face, social sharing for activities, automatic sleep tracking, new S Voice commands, a new contacts app and widget, and other new features to the smartwatch.

  1. I don't understand how the Sleep Tracking works with this new update, it worked once and now it does not work anymore. I think documentation is really lacking.

  2. Anyone having trouble with notifications? My Gear doesn't show any! I restored and did everything but nothing. Then a simple offline mode turn on and off solved the case. But I turned off the watch over the night and now I got the same problem. Insights?
