The Gear S3, Samsung's latest Tizen-based smartwatch, is a versatile smartwatch that can adapt to your changing fashion needs as well as assist you on the road. You can use the S3 with non-Samsung Galaxy devices, like the LG V20, that adds to its mass appeal.
Today, Samsung have announced their collaboration with Lonely Planet, who are a provider of global travel guides and tips, on a new Gear S3 app that enables travellers to find Interesting new destinations, all via their smartwatch. This app will be a companion app for Guides, Lonely Planet’s mobile app for travellers that covers 50 cities around the world. You will get a list of the top places in respect to the users' current location, but will also let you navigate to it.
When you are facing the elements you also need a smartwatch that can do the same. With IP68 water and dust resistance, you won't feel too concerned about the safety of the S3.
With a built-in GPS, Altimeter, and barometer, the Samsung Gear S3 allows users to track changes in altitude, atmospheric pressure, and weather. If you need more tools for you to be a perfect outdoor warrior then we have the official speedometer and Here WeGo navigation app that were recently released.
If you browse to the Galaxy Apps Store and search for 'Lonely Planet' you will find four travel-themed watch faces that have been created by the Lonely Planet design team, with added features such as destination details, weather information and a world clock.
The Samsung Gear S3 Guides by Lonely Planet will be available from the start of December.
