Yamaha Motor Europe partners with Smartsign and Samsung to setup digital signage at outlets

May 30, 2017

Yamaha Motor Europe had planned a three-year project in early 2017 to install digital signage displays across its European outlets that cover more than 1,000 locations in the continent. The project was assigned to Smartsign for delivering end to end implementation of the project and is currently being headed by Smartsign's Netherland's based Platinum Partner- Samsung Business Center.

As part of the project, digital screens from Samsung will be installed at the dealer locations which are powered by the Tizen OS which once again indicates the versatility of applications that Tizen can handle. Over 4,000 displays will be installed during the project timeline and one of the key requirement put out by Yamaha was that the content being displayed needed to be specific to each store's requirements.

Each dealer location will have large digital screens which display commercials of Yamaha products such as motorbikes, scooters, boats and engines. There will also be a special 32 inch interactive Samsung displays with multitouch capabilities which run a unique and interactive ”build your bike” application (My Garage App), setup as to help customers easily customize the bike the way they like and hence boost the sales of customized Yamaha bikes.

Presently, 50 stores have been ”digitised” with these Tizen OS based screens, and another 100 stores are expected to get the treatment over the summer and reach 800 stores before December 2019.
