Samsung today announced that in collaboration with three Banks in South Korea, local customers will be able to check their bank accounts, as well as being able to make payments just by using voice commands with the Bixby virtual assistant.
All you need to do, when you update Samsung Pay to the latest version, is add the "Bank Service" and use the three banking applications - Woori Bank account inquiry, transfer, exchange; Shinhan Bank account inquiry, transfer; KEB Hana Bank account inquiry, transfer, exchange rate inquiry service. This will then link the Samsung Pay app securely using Samsung Pass. Now, whenever a request is made to transfer money, Bixby will connect to Samsung Pay and authenticate the user by using the Iris Scanner.
South Korea is the only country at the moment that Bixby has been launched in and there is no news as to when the rest of us will have access to it. The sending money feature is only available on the Galaxy S8 at the moment, but obviously, we would like to see it on the Gear range of Tizen smartwatches. We are excited at the benefits that the whole Tizen ecosystem will receive by using its very own Artificial Virtual Assistant. Keep following Tizen Experts for all the Bixby developments.
