Samsung pay is swiftly and steadily growing. It is currently active in many banks and shopping centers globally. This payment platform is compatible with many Samsung devices ranging from smartphones to wearables. We reported earlier that about 600 Landmark stores across UAE and India now accepts Samsung Pay. Two weeks ago, RAKBANK became the first bank to introduce Samsung Pay solutions for ATMs in the UAE and the entire Middle East. Now, Lulu and Union Coop Hypermarkets are the latest shopping centers to adopt Samsung Pay system.

Samsung Pay and Visa reached an agreement to give UAE shoppers this simple, convenient and secured digital payment system for a limited period when they shop at Lulu and Union Coop Hypermarkets. Groceries and other necessities can now be paid for using Samsung Pay in these hypermarkets. These shopping centers have established branded checkout counters, however, this service is limited to Visa cardholders for now.

This partnership will make cashless payments easier and simpler for everyone. Our goal with Samsung Pay is to drive and lead innovation in the digitalisation of payments systems throughout the UAE.”

There will be 65 brand-new Samsung S8 smartphones to be won by Visa cardholders. The criteria for winning this smartphone is either paying via Samsung Pay at the store counter or by playing the game on Visa’s Facebook page. This is part of the Samsung Pay campaign as a result of the Visa - Samsung Partnership

A representative of Visa, Mohanish Agni, Head of Merchant Sales and Solutions, MENA, said

“With Samsung Pay still in its nascent stage in the UAE, this campaign will help to incentivise Visa cardholders to adopt this useful new technology. We are excited for customers to experience how much simpler and quicker grocery shopping can be when they opt for cashless payment transactions and are delighted to partner with two of the UAE’s leading hypermarkets, and our long-time strategic partner Samsung to make the lives of our cardholders hassle-free and rewarding”

Samsung Pay service is secured and it uses the current Near Fields Communication (NFC) coupled with Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technologies.
