Samsung Pay for Samsung Gear S2 and S3 launched today in Taiwan

Samsung Electronics has extensively expanded its Samsung Pay network. Samsung Pay is now active globally and most recently banks such as RosselkhozbankRAKBANK,  Sberbank, HBSC, First Direct, M&S Bank, Santander and about 41 banks in Austrailia joined the Samsung Pay platform. RAKBANK became the first bank in the Middle East to introduce Samsung Pay solutions for ATMs. Numerous shopping centers have also joined the Samsung Pay train. Most notable is the inclusion of 600 Landmark stores in the UAE and India as well as Lulu and Union Coop Hypermarkets in the UAE to the payment platform. Samsung Pay is compatible with wearables such as Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S3 in selected countries such as the UK and South Korea. Today, it was revealed that Samsung Pay is now active on Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S3 in Taiwan. With this feature, Taiwanese shoppers who own the Gear S3 can easily make payment using the Samsung Pay method.

As a reminder, note that for now, Samsung Pay is supported by Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge (NFC only), Galaxy Note5, Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A7 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016), Galaxy J7 (2017), Galaxy J5 (2017), as well as Gear S3 Classic and Frontier. In order to use the service on the Samsung Gear S3 Classic and Frontier, users need to press and hold the “Back” button on the Gear S3 case, select the card rotating bezel and click “Pay”. Don't also forget that this service is active in select countries for now and it is gradually spreading its tentacles.


Samsung Pay is a payment platform that allows you to easily and securely make payments for goods and services using your smartphone. Transactions can be carried out using Samsung Pay at any outlet that accepts credit or debit cards because Samsung Pay combines Near Fields Communication (NFC) and Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technologies thus shoppers can securely pay for their purchases using their Samsung smartphone or smartwatch. This payment platform is available to many Samsung Tizen mobiles.
