Samsung Tizen-powered Smart TVs has got another entertaining product in its rich lineup and that is the international children bouquet Okidoki. The bouquet is now available as an Over-the-top (OTT) service on Samsung Smart TVs. Okidoki is developed and distributed by Alchimie and is animated by Millimages. The app offers the best of cartoons, videos and educational games in French and English for children and toddlers from 2 to 6. For now, the service is being offered on the Samsung Smart TVs to new users for free for a duration of two months so as to enable them to test it.
The service will also be visible in the front row of applications for all new Samsung Smart TV buyers for easy access. The service offers over 3,000 original kids content including animated and Live action series, documentaries, do-it-yourself, and movies which amount to over 500 hours of programmes.
Raphael Porter, the Chief Business Development Officer of Alchimie outlined Smart TVs as one of the fastest growing segments of connected devices in the world which could become the main way to access Over-the-top(OTT) content over the world in the forth coming years. The company exec went on to state that Alchimie will continue to distribute all kind of content directly on those devices through digital platforms and telecom operators’ networks. The company forecasts that with the latest model, the will ship over 200 million units in 2017 and by 2019, shipments would have grown to 260 Million in 2019 and since there will be around one billion smart TVs sold all over the world during the next years, the future looks promising for content providers.
The Okidoki offer is available in 23 different languages and will be available for distribution in the coming weeks all over the globe.
