Samsung has once again shown its resolve to continue blazing the trail in consumer technology with the recent disclosure that it would be launching the world's largest gaming monitor at Gamescom 2017, which is taking place in Cologne, Germany from August 22 to August 26. Gamescom 2017 is the largest gathering of computer and video game industry’s media, developers, retailers and companies serving the gaming market, and what better place to unveil such a monster than at the event.
The Samsung CHG90 QLED Gaming Monitor is a large screen monitor programmed to deliver IMAX-style cinematic viewing experience. The gaming monitor sports a 49-inch super ultra-wide 32:9 HDR (High Dynamic Range) screen and has a resolution of 3840 x 1080 pixels. The gaming monitor also has a 1800R curvature which provides users an immersive view during gameplay and a seamless gaming experience. The oversized display ensures gamers get peak performance during the entire gameplay while the wide aspect ratio allows users to see game scenes entirely. It also comes with an Easy Setting Box which provides multi tasking flexibility as users can partition the screen into several independent displays of different sizes just at the click of a button. There is also a Picture-by-Picture functionality that allows users to connect and view input sources without degrading the original image quality.
One major feature of the gaming monitor is that it has an amazingly rapid screen refresh rate of 144Hz which makes sure action-packed scenes are rendered smoothly and flawlessly. The screen refresh rate can be adjusted to 60Hz/120Hz if the need arises. In addition, the display a decent 1ms (MPRT) response time and combines Quantum Dot and HDR technology, providing a more realistic and lifelike colors. There is also game mode option.
Furthermore, the Samsung CHG90 adorns a sleek minimalistic design which includes a matte black body mounted on a circular stand. The design is left minimalistic to avoid distractions and allow gamers to fully concentrate on the game on the screen. The monitor also features a hinge having a superlative ergonomic design with adjustable height, swivel, tilt, and VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) mounting capabilities. The monitor also comes with support for two HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) ports, DisplayPort and audio out connectivity options.

The Samsung CHG90 Gaming Monitor will be available throughout Europe, including Germany, after Gamescom 2017. It will also make an appearance at the City Cube Berlin during IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) 2017 holding from September 1-6, 2017. Samsung is yet to disclose the price of the monitor but we sure don't expect a cheap price tag.
