If you're an owner of a Samsung Galaxy J device you will be thrilled to know there are new possibilities coming for you. It shouldn't come as a surprise that Samsung is boosting its wearables department - this time with a major software release for all Samsung Galaxy J devices.

For the first time ever Galaxy J5 Prime, Galaxy J5 Pro, Galaxy J7 Neo and Galaxy J7 Prime are compatible with many wearables of the Samsung ecosystem.

What does it mean if you own a Galaxy J device

It means a lot.

Your device can now integrate with Gear S2, Gear S3, Gear Fit2, Gear Fit2 Pro and Gear IconX. You get essential functionalities with this integration - things like GPS, use of streaming services, frequency monitor cardiac and so on.

Gear S2 and Gear S3, both addressing a user base with a taste for classical style, offer a much better experience as far as Instant Messaging and fast communication are concerned. With such a sleek touch-sensitive display you got everybody at your fingertips, and however, you can even register a voice message and automatically convert it into text. Both the smartwatches also wink at the increasing need for security, with nothing short than actual SOS features, location tracking to alert the family in case of danger.

And if you pair the smartwatch with a compatible smartphone, you don't even need the smartphone on hand!

Your Galaxy J device is also able to integrate with Gear Fit. For all the fitness nerds out there, the combo gives you integrated GPS, 4GB of storage and music playback.

Not to mention Gear Fit2 and Gear Fit2 Pro (both are Tizen based). They are both water- and dust-resistant. Well, that for Gear Fit2 Pro would be an understatement. As an actual fact, you can swim while you're wearing it. Cool, huh? Both Gear Fit2 and Gear Fit2 Pro offer IM and, if paired with a compatible device, also provide an automatic activity monitoring feature.

Another interesting combo is the one with Gear IconX.

Gear IconX is really two devices rolled into one. At a first glance, it's a couple of in-ear, 100% wireless earbuds, with 4 GB of internal memory to store all your songs for every time that Internet doesn't work and you can't help but feel overwhelmed by nostalgia for your good ole walkman.

But Gear IconX is much more - thanks to special sensors it monitors your heart rate, so while you're on your run you're always safe.

How to use these gadgets

You have nothing to do but downloading the Gear Manager app in the Play Store, do the pairing and that's it. Finally, remember that you can also leverage Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for multiple connections, data transfer and data synchronization across different devices.
