Expanding its retail presence in the city, Samsung India has announced that it will be opening ten retail stores in the city of Bengaluru, India, by December 2017. The company says these stores will help it better serve consumers, and everything from Samsung’s smartphones to its QLED TVs will be made available in these stores.

Spread across 1,750 sq. ft. to 3,000 sq. ft. of area, all of the ten stores will be fully functional by the end of December, making it the largest number of stores opened within three months. The stores will display the entire range of Samsung offerings – QLED TV, The Frame and other Televisions, FlexWash and other Washing Machines, Air Conditioners, Refrigerators, Microwave Ovens, Galaxy Note8 and other mobiles phone and wearables. This will create a one-stop shopping experience for the consumers.

“Samsung has always been at the forefront of driving innovation that aims at creating products catering to the evolving needs of consumers. The reception for Samsung products has been overwhelming and we have witnessed tremendous demand from Bengaluru which is one of the top markets for Samsung. The opening of 10 new brand shops will help us in reaching out to our customers at their convenience and also enable us to serve them better,” said Mr. Rajeev Bhutani, Vice President, Consumer Electronics Business, Samsung India.

Though Samsung still remains India’s most trusted smartphone brand, a sheer rise in Xiaomi’s market presence in 2017 might have triggered Samsung to take this step. Xiaomi’s first offline retail store had also been opened in the same city earlier this year. Samsung had no significant growth in India’s smartphone market share, with the South Korean giant accompanying for 23% of smartphones in India by the end of third quarter of 2017, unchanged from 2016. Xiaomi’s market share, on the other hand, rose from 6% in 2016 to 22% in 2017, to become India’s second best smartphone brand.

The new Samsung stores will be set up in key locations like Whitefield, Hebbagodi, Peenya, Banashankari, Ramamurthy Nagar, Jaya Nagar and Marathalli.
