There are quite a few bits of Information that we have gleaned from leaks about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch of late, but today, it seems Samsung wanted in on the action and actually leaked the Galaxy Watch on their OWN website!
A listing on Samsung's official US site appeared earlier today with the model number SM-R810. This is one of two models that is making its way to US shores according to recent FCC filing, model SM-R800 and SM-R810. What we have are photographs of the SM-R810 and the fact that it is the 42mm model. There was a link to another product page for this model, but it is dead.
It appears that the Galaxy Watch will be offered in two different screen sizes. The SM-R800 will be the 46mm model with a 1.3-Inch screen. The SM-R810 will be the 42mm model with a 1.2-inch screen. I don't know about you, but I'm definitely in the 1.3-Inch screen camp as it totally makes the watch face more swipe-friendly. Possibly the 1.2-inch screen might be more appealing to someone that likes a smaller, less imposing watch, something with less "heft" to it. There is also a new Rose Gold coloured version of the smartwatches that many could find appealing 🙂
There were also rumours that the next Samsung wearable piece of tech might be powered by Google's wear OS, but now it seems that it will, in fact, be powered by Tizen 4.0. At the moment we are possibly looking at a launch date of August 9th at Samsung's Unpacked event in New York, US. This will be alongside the Galaxy Note 9 and possibly Samsung's AI Bixby smart speaker, possibly called Magbee. All three devices could be released as soon as August 24th, but we will have to wait and see.
