The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active has now launched in India, going on sale for Rs. 19,990 ($288). Consumers that are interested in this wearable device can purchase the smartwatch from various outlets. Samsung's own online shop has stock as well as the Samsung Opera House. There will also be the usual third-party outlets that will also stock the smartwatch. As of June 27, you will also be able to purchase the Galaxy Watch Active from Amazon India.
This is the successor to the Gear Sport, which was released in October 2017. We were initially wary about Samsung's decision to release a watch that did not support its now Iconic rotating bezel, but it seems all is well. The Galaxy Watch Active is much smaller than the Galaxy Watch, mainly due to a smaller 1.1-inch screen and the lack of rotating bezel.
This is a formidable smartwatch that strikes a balance between form and functionality. It has a 1.1-Inch Super AMOLED display at 360 x 360 pixels. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. 5 ATM water resistance rating (you can dive to a depth of 50 meters with it), as well as a MIL-STD-810G rugged rating.
We have built-in GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, and a Heart Rate Monitor. This is one of the few devices that is able to monitor your blood pressure! To finish everything off you have four different colours to choose from - Silver, Black, Sea Green, and Rose Gold.
On the software front you this is a Tizen operated device with the ability to track dozens of activities. Paired with a smartphone, you are able to make use of Samsung Health, the companies fitness platform.
