If you’re a Galaxy Watch / Galaxy Watch Active user and have been jealous of how Bixby performs on the Galaxy Watch Active 2, you don’t have to be anymore. Thanks to a new software update, the earlier-generation watches will be receiving some of the functionality that we see on Samsung’s latest smartwatch.
After you have installed the update, you’ll be able to start exercise routine using Bixby Voice. As well as this, you’ll also be able to find out time differences between two places and be able to control devices within the SmartThings ecosystem. Bixby will also learn your routine and will become more helpful to you when it learns enough about your routine. The voice assistant has also has new language capabilities. These languages include English (UK), French, German, Italian and Spanish.
Not only will Bixby be improved. The Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active will receive 24 new sub-dials and complications thanks to the update. This, added to the 17 that were already on the devices, leaves us with a total of 51 sub-dials and complications. This’ll help users access the information that they want leaving out all the extras they won’t want / need.
The improved user experience brings you the My Style feature! This feature is something I’ve enjoyed as it matches your smartwatch watchface with your outfit – making sure you look your best in every way.
Speaking of the user experience, it has been given new features and has been improved. What’s new? Icons for in-use apps have been moved to the bottom of the watch face. The current time will now always be displayed on-screen when the stopwatch app is in use or users are on a call, and users can more easily customize the icons in their quick panel thanks to a change in layout. There is also new emojis that comes in a range of skin tones. For Galaxy Watch Active users, a new Touch Bezel interface has been implemented with the update. This allows the users to swipe their fingers around the bezel to navigate.
There are also new capabilities for Samsung Health. There is now a Daily Active feature that helps you keep track of your fitness goals. As well as this, The Galaxy Watch will get a low heart rate alert.
