It comes as a little that Samsung has released a Gear S2 update – the first time in years. The software version is R730AUCU3CQK1 and it is only a 6.79MB download. This tiny package promises Improved battery life and security. A big feat for such a little one you would think!
In these modern times we are used to tech devices coming to the end of their support from hardware manufacturers. Recently, Sonos announced that they would no longer support early models of their hardware, namely: Original Zone Players, Connect, and Connect:Amp, first-generation Play:5, CR200, and Bridge — will no longer receive software updates or new features.
When was the last Gear S2 update?
Our little Gear S2 smartwatch hasn’t received any software update love from Samsung for a couple of years now, so that is one of the reasons there is some disbelief! Information is a bit sketchy as to where the update is rolling out, but you can always reach out to the IoT Gadgets team and let us know if you’ve got it.
You should receive a notification that you’re able to get the Gear S2 update, but in case you don’t you can always manually check. You can do so by launching the Galaxy Wearable App – Scroll down to Watch Software Update – Select Download and Install.
