MacBook M1 16-inch Pro Model Release Dates and Specs

It’s great to see Apple release the MacBook Pro 13-inch with the M1 processor. Right off the bat, this looks like a formidable computer but there something else that we actually want. Like many other of Apple’s customers, we yearn for the 16-inch model. However, it is rumored that the 16-inch model will come out soon, with better specs and making it even more worthy of your precious money.

The first rumor we’ve heard is that the new MacBook may have an upgraded version of the already powerful M1 chip, being named M1X. Another rumor is that Apple will return back to MagSafe for its charging needs. Also, If you are a touch bar fan, sorry, but the 16-inch MacBook will get rid of it. Is that a step back too far for you?

This could be a choice of Apple to extend the battery life even more, which is surprising, as the MacBook already has an impressive 16 hours of battery life.

Macbook Release Date and Price.

Apple has not made any official announcements about new MacBook’s, but the only thing we know is that it will come out somewhere between the second and third quarter of 2021.

The well known Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman both think that a new rush of MacBook’s is expected to arrive sometime in 2021, both available in 16-inch and 14-inch displays.

Kuo expects them to arrive somewhere in-between Q2 and Q3 of 2021, but Gurman predicts Apple is planning for a release in about June 2021, halfway of the year. A DigiTimes report was filled, agreeing with Gurman, saying it will come out at around the second quarter.

Judging by that information, we can predict it to come out around late summer, but COVID-19 may have different plans, as it did with a large number of Apple’s 2020 sales.

The price is very hard to figure out, but we know that if the current 16″ MacBook Pro is $2,399 (also £2,399), and given the hardware upgrades, it should be about the same price tag. But to be exact, it’s most likely going to be $2,699 and could have the same price in pounds.

The Design

The biggest change to the MacBook Pro is the company getting rid of that touch bar, which not many people used. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the touch bar will be replaced by physical keys, which are much easier to handle.

Kuo also says that the MacBook will have more USB ports, so if you are like many others, you can increase storage and connect to additional peripheral devices.

The one feature people are getting hyped for is the MacBook Pro 2021 16″ is seeing MagSafe for the first time in several years. Now we have seen a version of MagSafe in the iPhone 12 series, but that was only a special wireless charging pad, but that wasn’t what MacBook Pro users were used to, having the standard break-away charging cable they were used to.

Gurman claims MagSafe will use a pill-shaped design, making us think that it is the same that MagSafe remembers. He also confirmed that the MacBook Pro 16″ will have a slightly brighter screen, which is very nice, as this may help people see more thing’s clearly on their device.

The butterfly keyboards in the old MacBooks had a poor design, as many reports were filled with the keys getting stuck, adding extra letters ext. These keyboards were ended and once more, the keyboard goes to the old magic keyboards. The old M1 MacBooks (MacBook Air M1, MacBook Pro M1) had a very good keyboard reception, and thankfully, these keys are also going to be included in the MacBook Pro M1X 16″.

And for already amazing features, there’s a new one. A newly discovered patent suggests Apple is considering adding an AirPower charge to the future MacBooks. The patent shows wireless charging coils around the MacBook’s surface (also one underneath the trackpad) and at least nine behind the screen. Speaking of it, let’s see will it have a Mini-LED display.

Mini-LED display?

We’ve been hearing quite a few rumors about the next iPad Pro have a Mini-LED display, but Ming-Chi Kuo says that’s only the beginning of their plans.

Apple’s plan has been reported a lot about all the devices/gadgets having a Mini-LED display, including IMacs, iPads, and MacBook Pro’s.
There are quite a few advantages to having Mini-LEDs inside devices, so this is truly one step forward for Apple. Mini LEDs use tiny groups of LEDs instead of a single large one used by many LCD displays.

This new display can offer deeper colours and blacks, better contrast, and higher brightness levels, while still being power efficient, bringing you an extraordinary display/scene, all while using only a fraction of power consumption.
The iMac is almost guaranteed to have a mini LED option in the future, having its benefits for app developers. However, the selling of MacBooks may be very low, as Mini LEDs are quite new, they may have a very high price tag to add.

Specs

There’s not much detail as the device doesn’t have many rumours, but Kuo has already claimed it will not have an Intel processor. Instead, he’s said that it will definitely have Apple Silicon, which doesn’t shock us, as Apple’s M1 chip performed much better than the Intel 2020 Macbook’s
It’s not definite if the Notebook will come with the same M1 ARM chip, or if it will come with a new upgraded version, named M1X.

The processor will have 12 cores, 8 performance cores, 4 high-efficiency cores, and it will come first in the MacBook Pro 16″ M1X (name for the processor isn’t final) According to a source who used a prototype of the processor, said, If you think M1 is fast, then you definitely haven’t tried the M1X.

These are some more big steps that Apple is making, as the previous version had four efficiency and high-performance cores. So far the rumours are making the chip seem like one beast. But though it has a very powerful processor, it can still keep battery life in control, scoring 20 hours of life before you need to charge again.

This new MacBook may have surprising results and could be faster/more efficient when it comes to using.
To find out if these rumours were true, we just have to wait until June.
